Made of Grade 5 titanium, the 2024 Longines Spirit Zulu Time is both lightweight and robust.
No Swiss brand has paid tribute to its own history quite like Longines. Heritage has always held a special place in the compelling narrative of Longines and the Longines Spirit Zulu Time collection is a prime example. First introduced in 2022, the novelty pays homage to the first Longines dual time-zone wristwatch produced in 1925. Instilled with the adventurous spirit that has made Longines a household name, the Zulu Time collection celebrates its revered heritage and watchmaking expertise that has guided some of the most daring explorers in history.
This year, Longines continues to showcase its resoluteness with a brand-new Longines Spirit Zulu Time in titanium. Crafted with Grade 5 titanium, the new rendition is lightweight and robust, and proffered with a 39mm case for a sleeker appearance. Along with the titanium upgrade, the Zulu Time watch features a bidirectional ceramic GMT bezel with the upper half finished in intense-polished black and the lower half in matte black. Like its peers in the Spirit collection, the watch boasts golden, Super-LumiNova®-coated markers and Arabic numerals. Matched with an interchangeable bracelet in Grade 5 titanium, which can be easily swapped with leather or NATO-style strap, the 2024 version is brought to life with Longines’ hallmark, the iconic winged hourglass logo, as well as the five stars, symbolising its chronometric precision.
What makes this watch stand out from the run-of-the-mill timepieces is the exclusive Longines GMT calibre L844.4, equipped with a silicon balance-spring and innovative components offering a resistance to magnetic fields ten times greater than the ISO 764 reference standard. This precise self-winding mechanical movement has a power reserve of up to 72 hours and is officially certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres).
