Any fragrance hall of fame would be incomplete without the mention of Dior Sauvage. Iterations of the fresh fragrance have turned this chapter of Dior Beauty into a still-expanding novella, every new transformation solidifying the gravity of its influence and presence in the Dior story.

This year, the emblematic fragrance gets a facelift by the hand (and nose) of celebrated perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. Introducing the Dior Sauvage Eau Forte — a water-based composition that is at once spicy, woody and musky, yet intensely fresh — the in-between of an eau de toilette and an eau de parfum. Picture a majestic waterfall, spraying mist as it bridges the air of the sky and the earth. A revolutionary high-pressure nano-emulsion technique blends a unique aqueous formula with a very powerful oily fragrance concentrate, producing a highly concentrated water that is characteristically milky and housed in a bottle of the signature Sauvage midnight blue.

Altogether, the concoction is long-lastingly decadent, its spice tethering the boundaries of warm and cool in its unique relay. Softened lavender, sensual almond and liquorice give way to woods and tenacious musk water, elevating each note’s presence before melting into the skin — bringing out portrayals of Sauvage that are one-of-a-kind, changing with each wearer.
