A brand new month means another lineup of newly-released and soon-to-be-released dramas as well as movies. This November, critically-acclaimed actor Gong Yoo returns with a mystery drama that takes us on a ride full of twists and turns.
On the other hand, actress of the moment Esther Yu transports us to virtual world of The Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus, a fictional novel written by Chinese web author Bai Yu Zhai Diao Gong with her fantasy drama starring Ryan Ding.

Zombieverse Season 2
Korean reality series Zombieverse is set to return for its second season and the cast is bigger than ever. The brand new season features a star-studded lineup, including Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Starlight Boys’s guider Kwon Eun Bi and Single’s Inferno’s Dex. The cast ventures beyond the streets of Seoul, bracing themselves through the zombie-infested world. Expect it to be packed with nerve-wracking action scenes, brought to life by directors Park Jin Kyung and Moon Sang Don.
Mr. Plankton
Director Hong Jong-Chan is back with another meaningful drama that encourages reflection on our lives. Featuring Woo Do-hwan from Bloodhounds and Lee Yoo Mi from Strong Girl Nam-Soon, the romantic comedy series centres around Hae-jo, an orphan (played by Do-hwan) diagnosed with a brain tumour. With little time left to live, Hae-jo embarks on a journey to find his long-lost father, highlighting the importance of life.
The Trunk
Korea’s celebrated actor Gong Yoo returns with another masterpiece, The Trunk. The romantic drama, directed by Kim Kyu Tae, sees the revered Korean actor teaming up with Why Her?’s Seo Hyun Jin to portray a fake married couple in a contract marriage. As time slips by, they adapt to each other’s quirks and lives. However, their budding chemistry starts to fall to pieces when they stumble upon a mysterious trunk in a lake, which pulls them into a suspenseful web of mystery.
The Deception Game
If you are up for a revenge series, this is for you. Starring Thisa Varitthisa Limthammahisorn and Preaw Tussaneeya Karnsomnut, the Thai drama produced by Channel 7 hops on the trend of badass female leads with a nail-biting story, The Deception Game. As the title suggests, the drama highlights the rivalry between the two famous actresses, where they sabotage each other’s lives over old grudges, turning Phat’s (played by Thisa) seemingly perfect married life into misery.
The Musical Murder
What happens when supernatural meets comedy? The result is a riveting drama, laden with laughter and plot twists. Directed by Marut Sarowat, The Musical Murder tells the story of Dao Panprakai (played by Green Ausadaporn Siriwattanakul), a prominent theatre actress who fakes her own suicide to grab her boyfriend’s attention after discovering his affair. However, after going to great lengths to set it up, things take an unexpected turn.
Love Game in Eastern Fantasy
What is it like when a fictional story becomes reality? Love Game in Eastern Fantasy has the answer. In the latest fantasy drama produced by Tencent Video, Ling Miao Miao (played by Esther Yu), is transported into the fictional world of the Monster Hunting novel due to a glitch. In the world full of wicked monsters, she must team up with a group of ambitious youngsters to resolve the animosity between humans and monsters in order to return to the real world.
Kahar: Kapla High Council
A fan of Projek: High Council? You are in luck because Astro is here to satiate your thirst with a new instalment in the Projek anthology. With Amir Ahnaf returning as Kahar, joined by new cast members Aedy Ashraf and Sky Iskandar as Beja and Megat respectively, the Kahar: Kapla High Council — the prequel to the Projek: High Council — sheds light on Kahar, a form 4 student and introvert who tends to isolate himself. Due to an incident, Kahar is compelled to join “Pilihanraya”, an underground fight where each representative from the boarding school of “KUDRAT” competes to become the head of the high council.
Mithya: The Darker Chapter
Are you ready for another thrilling ride of Mithya? The series, which explores the turbulent relationship between half sisters Juhi and Rhea, is back for Season 2, and it’s more intense than ever. In the Mithya: The Darker Chapter, the hatred between the sisters grows stronger as the sisters seek revenge and vengeance. Expect deceptive lies, thought out retributions and heart-wrenching betrayals — and some surprising twists, as it’s directed by stand-up comedian and producer Kapil Sharma.
