What is the most human of interaction? If you ask Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele, he will tell you that it’s the handshake.
Inspired by the sign of warm intimacy and affection, the handshake represents the main gesture of the brand’s newest timepieces campaign. Photographer Ari Marcopoulos depicts a charismatic and confident leader on the campaign trail in a series of meet-and-greets, which emphasise the diversity of the personalities that a campaigner could encounter on his travels.
The two watch models featured are: the Grip and G-Timeless automatic. The former refers to not merely how a watch should fit snugly to the wrist, but also to the world of skateboarding. Featuring a yellow gold PVD case, three windows indicating hour, minute and date and a yellow gold PVD bracelet engraved with GG – and another version boasting a steel case and interchangeable green alligator strap, it was designed by Alessandro Michele without a definition of gender. The latter is crafted with a steel case, black onyx stone dial with bees and steel bracelet or steel case with 18-carat yellow gold buckle, blue lapiz stone dial with bees and interchangeable blue lizard strap.
