Aiming to bring things beyond the bounds, the Prada and Adidas collaboration leverage on the synergy of heritage, technology and innovation and venture into new possibilities that build on the houses’ strong milieu of shared approaches and pursuits. Tapping into the visionary approach of Adidas and unparalleled vision on luxury of Prada, the powerful creations of the two behemoths do not disappoint.
After few weeks of teasing, the brands are finally releasing the first pieces to the rest of the world. Fusing fashion and performance, the labels explore the sports realm while delving into each of their archives by introducing Prada’s take on the iconic Adidas Superstar sneaker which will be available in a limited edition of 700 pairs. Made in Italy, the unisex shoes is crafted in premium full-grain leather with “Optic” white colourway and Prada logo emblazoned on the side. Alongside the shoes, the Italian also revisited its classic bowling bag with the references to the Adidas fitness bag to accompany the footwear.
In addition, Prada and Adidas confirmed the release of the new Luna Rossa performance sailing footwear, to be unveiled in 2020. The shoes are a reference to the Luna Rossa sailing team, first established in 1997, where Prada participated in the America’s Cup. “[It’s] the perfect laboratory to test new materials and technology, and offers the ideal conditions to perfect the science of sailing,” the brand said of the launch.
The Prada x adidas Superstar and Bowling Bag Set will be available on December 4 at adidas’ website and Prada’s website, as well as select Prada and adidas locations. Stay tuned for pricing details.
