As the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, Omega is used to turning a second into a celebration with the new Seamaster Planet Ocean “Pyeongchang 2018”.
Created to celebrate the coming 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, the timepiece is a new collectible timepiece within the Omega “Pyeongchang 2018” collection.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean “Pyeongchang 2018” follows the two-years-to-go release of the Seamaster Aqua Terra “Pyeongchang 2018”, adopting a more striking appearance in the bold colours of the Korean flag.
Cased in stainless steel, it features a polished blue ceramic dial and applied rhodium-plated indexes coated with white Super-LumiNova emitting a blue glow. The same luminescence highlights the hour and seconds hands, while the minute hand and dot on the bezel glow green.
Additionally, the watch’s unidirectional rotating bezel features the world’s first polished blue ceramic ring inlaid with rubber (in red for the initial 15 minutes) and a Liquidmetal dive scale.
On the back, the new alveol-patterned screw-in case back is engraved in blue with the words “Planet Ocean” and “Limited Edition”, together with the limited edition number, while “Pyeongchang 2018” and the Olympic Winter Games logo appear on the sapphire crystal.
Limited to 2,018 pieces, each Seamaster Planet Ocean “Pyeongchang 2018” is presented on a blue structured rubber strap with blue-red rubber lining and delivered in a special commemorative box (which includes an extra stainless steel bracelet), making it a collector-worthy item in anticipation of the coming Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
