When it comes to the British sensibility, there’s no better designer for it than Stella McCartney, the prodigal designer and daughter to Paul McCartney of The Beatles.
And following her successful debut menswear collection last year, Stella is back again as she showcases her first fall/winter collection for the gents. This time round, she drew her inspiration much closer to home – British fine tailoring but not without a modern and funky twist to it.
In the collection filled with warm and earthy tones to reflect the autumn season, the designer showcases her flair for Savile Row techniques in the form of impeccably sculpted shirts and high-waisted trousers, while her English heritage shines through the fabrics of the soft wool sweaters and tartan coats.
With that comes the dash of sporty silhouettes oversized parkas and nylon jackets made with the same fine tailoring in her suits.
To finish it off, McCartney also interlaced with hybrid animals and playful graphic prints to inject that much loved British humour into the collection to up the cool factor of everything within.
Along with the collection, McCartney also unveiled a short fashion film directed by Sean Ellis that stars Cillian Murphy and features a music score composed by Paul McCartney himself to further enhance the experiential journey of this exciting new venture of Stella McCartney.
