Taking inspiration from his formative years as a young designer, Riccardo Tisci unveils Burberry Autumn/Winter 2020 collection that embeds with the label’s codes and Tisci’s signature style. Given the name “Memories”, the collection sees arrays of apparel in various silhouettes, from classic elegance to graceful loose to modern fit designed in Burberry beige colour palette, grey, black, dark green, russet and metallic accents with a juxtaposition of new and reinterpreted house check prints.
Classic Burberry trench coats, car coats, duffle coats as well as and equestrian-inspired quilted jackets and long collarless coats are all mostly treated with high-tech fabrications while tailoring, English-fit jackets, shirts and sweaters are intricately constructed using rich and traditional materials. Exquisite craftsmanship manifests all-range of ready-to-wear as well as accessories and leather goods. Burberry also introduces a unisex, three-sized Olympia bag collection along with Pocket Bag, Society holdall and duffle bag in plaid.
The show is presented in London’s majestic Kensington Olympia’s National Hall, models – both new faces and established Burberry musses walks down a mirrored runway which towered in front of the seated audience. Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett, runway queen Naomi Campbell, Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr are among the front rows along with other celebrities and renowned fashion figures. The show is charmed with a live curated soundscape performed by notable pianist Katia and Marielle Labèque as well as producer Arca. Following the Spring/Summer 2020 show, Burberry Autumn/Winter 2020 fashion presentation is once again certified as carbon neutral
