Coach has recently appointed Michael B. Jordan as the first-ever global face for Coach Men’s, a great milestone for both the brand and actor as he is the first man and first African American to be appointed the role.
As the ambassador for Coach Men’s, Jordan will be starring in the brand’s coming Spring 2019 campaign as well as in the accessories and fragrance advertisements. His partnership with Coach will also be in the same approach as Selena Gomez where Jordan will take on a co-designing role.
With his appointment, we can also expect special capsule collaborations of the actor with the brand’s creative director Stuart Vevers. Jordan is also slotted to participate in philanthropic endeavours with the Coach Foundation.
Prior to getting involved in the actual works, Michael B. Jordan has already expressed his excitement by sharing, “I’m looking forward to jumping into the creative process and exploring fashion through a different lens”.
Stuart Vevers, in the meanwhile, shared that, “Michael is cool and authentic, and he really embodies the Coach guy. I’ve had the chance to get to know Michael over the last couple of years. He always looks great in Coach, so it felt really natural to build our relationship”.
It seemed like tapping a celebrity with great fame and followers like Selena Gomez has been a promising strategy for Coach and with Jordan, Coach hopes that it can boost the business of menswear with the growing fame of Jordan who has multiple productions in hand including Creed II (2018), Just Mercy (2020) and Tom Clancy film series.
