Brunello Cucinelli’s SS 2022 evokes long-lost sartorial moment

The Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 season saw designers breaking free with party-ready pieces executed in high-shine and scanty items that unapologetically showed off the physique. Brunello Cucinelli, however, takes on the task with what they do best — the sartorial style.

Named “Simplicity in Elegance”, the latest Spring/Summer 2022 collection is underpinned by the concept of rebirth, joyful reunions and the sharing of daily gestures. Colours are predominantly neutral while faint pastels like yellows, pink and light blues bring a sense of preppiness to the sober palette.

Heavyweight fabrics now give way to cottons, linens and virgin wool for lightness and breathability, decorated with patterns the likes of twill, glen check, pinstripe and Glenurquhart check. Renewing the canons of male elegance, traditional suiting is now reinterpreted in relaxed manner to retrieve long-lost freedom that we have been missing.

Cream colour blazer is playfully matched with denim jeans with layering of tartan check shirt and suede gilet. To give a kick of coolness, a light-toned ensemble is paired with chocolaty biker jacket while beige cable knit cardigan clashes with muted cargo shorts. The collection is completed with an extensive footwear offering, from English-inspired classics to sporty modern styles like brogues, espadrilles, sneakers, penny loafers and tassel loafers.
