What Tokyo and New York City have in common? A heap of them that we have to rack our brain to list it down. However, one thing for sure is that they have one of the best railway systems in the world so great that even Asics’ recent collaboration drew inspiration from it.
In collaboration with Atmos, Asics introduces Gel-Lyte III OG Subway Pack. Reflecting Atmos’ locations at Tokyo and New York City, the subway route maps of the two capitals find its way to the new models namely NYC Subway and TYO Subway, which are made in high-quality leather. With map designs dreamed up by Tokyo Cartographic, the NYC Subway features NY and Big Apple embroideries on the tongue while baby blue colour and Asics’ signature tiger stripes painted in grey accord a decent contrast. The TYO Subway, where TYO and Tokyo Tower perch on the tongue, is highlighted with navy blue insignia and kanji wording, giving the OG models a fun twist.
Known for its unique ‘split tongue’, the latest iteration of the Asics Gel-Lyte III retails for RM 579 and is available at Asics’ official stores, asics.com, Atmos’ online and retail stores.
