Next in Fashion, first aired in 2010, was on the lips of fashion stalwarts and drama addicts thanks to its all-around production. However, the fashion design competition series has been cancelled after that.

Next in Fashion
After three years of hiatus, Next in Fashion is finally back. Queer Eye’s Tan France will join one of the most celebrated supermodels Gigi Hadid to host the Season 2 of fashion design competition. Previously, the Netflix-produced series has mustered a stellar cast of big names including Eva Chen, Christopher Kane, Tommy Hilfiger and Adriana Lima. Therefore, expect the new season to feature some of the impressive figures in the fashion world.
Kingdom of Dreams
Misfits Entertainment, the creator of McQueen, chronicles major decades in the fashion world — a golden period that saw the burgeoning of creativity among the highly-revered masterminds the likes of John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford. Based on Dana Thomas’s book Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster, the drama-fuelled docu-series offers us a peek into never-before-seen personal archives, powerful visuals and story-driven interviews.
Halston
Calling all fashion lovers, Halston is the go-to if you are looking for a blockbuster-standard series that centres around fashion. Directed by Daniel Minahan, the Netflix series transports us back to the late 70s when the American fashion designer had his watershed moment. The glamorous five-part miniseries walks us through the rise and downfall of his career, the struggle of finding his own signature as well as his indulgence of hedonism at Studio 54.
Helmut Newton: The Bad and the Beautiful
The Gero Von Boehm documentary is a departure from the conventional biographical film. Deviating from the life of Helmut Newton, director von Boehm focuses on the erotically-charged and highly subversive works of Newton — which has reverberated through the worlds of fashion and art. Equally binge-worthy are the interviews of the women who helped to catapulted his career namely Charlotte Rampling, Claudia Schiffer, Isabella Rossellini and Marianne Faithfull.
Martin Margiela: In His Own Words
Through the lens of Reiner Holzemer, the fashion feature dives into the calling of the Belgian designer, who is known for his destructed creations and subversive view on fashion. In the documentary, you will feast your eyes on Margiela’s iconic creations like military sock sweater, porcelain waistcoat and glove-assembled tunics. “The film opened my eyes to something I had never quite seen or understood before,” Cathy Horyn, The Cut’s Critic-at-Large, shared.
Studio 54
Though the iconic night club has lost its lustre over its first shutdown at 1980, Studio 54 remains as a household name and a wellspring of inspirations for fashion designers — from Tom Ford to Marc Jacobs to Anthony Vaccarello. In the film, director Matt Tyrnauer unearths the success story of the star-studded attraction, which has exploded into the mainstream with its hedonistic and boundary-breaking culture. Apart from the hagiographic portrayal of drug, music and sex, the 2018 documentary also offers a glimpse of the glamorous party dresses — a hallmark of the New York’s most fabled night club.
