In light of the launch of Street Fighter 6 this month — the latest addition to the numbered series — Onitsuka Tiger has come together with the beloved fighting game for the third time to specially design the ENDACTUS™, a brand new silhouette made to celebrate the occasion.
As seen on charming actor Azrel Ismail and available to wear as a character skin in the game, this custom-developed shoe is bold and sporty, the graphic Onitsuka Tiger Stripes logo stitching covering a square-toed, bulbous-soled sneaker — complete with shuriken-shaped grips.
Key features of the ENDACTUS™ also include the mismatched Onitsuka Tiger and Street Fighter logo embroidery on the heel tabs, mesh uppers, and a smooth leather overlay, all harmonized by the colourways of yellow and grey — the same colours used in the very first collaboration between the brands in 2019. The bright yellow, as seen on Azrel and Singaporean actor Ayden Sng, is a feisty statement-maker that highlights the design details and Japanese craftsmanship of the ENDACTUS™, while the cool, slate grey iteration highlights the trendy shape in a more subtle manner — perfect for those who love Street Fighter and are looking to wear this heart on their sleeve (or feet) in a cool way.
In the digital space, Street Fighter players around the world will be gifted the Onitsuka Tiger digital interchangeable skin and collaborative ENDACTUS™ shoes in Battle Hub, to be worn in-game. A special Onitsuka Tiger pop-up store will also be open at Battle Hub from Wednesday, November 1 to Thursday, November 30. There, players can download items such as Onitsuka Tiger’s iconic MEXICO 66 sneakers and other apparel.
This is the third time Onitsuka Tiger has collaborated with Street Fighter, but the first time a new silhouette was specially designed for the partnership; the previous two projects in 2019 and 2022 were iterations of existing styles and illustrations of the Street Fighter characters Chun-Li and Kimberly. Now, it is clear both brands are committed to impacting culture while embracing their Japanese roots, honouring heritage while being inspired by the constantly evolving demand for an active style.
