The BV Andiamo gets a new update in Bristol calfskin and canvas

The longevity that powers the classic to stay ever-present and relevant lies in simplicity and specificity. Bottega Veneta’s release of the Andiamo last year set the tone for Matthieu Blazy’s constant but resolute stride forward in craftsmanship-led exploration and evolution, and the new territory it charts this summer is no less riveting in size, shape and colour.

The most recent rendition of the beloved Andiamo comes in a washed Bristol calfskin and canvas mix — a touch less ostentatious than its full-leather cousins. Available in light brown and beige, the leather of the top flap and bottom corners is sourced in France — undergoing a unique ageing, washing and manual brushing process to produce its perpetually sun-kissed sheen. In place of the hand-woven Intrecciato is a durable, heavy-duty canvas body — the contrast against the buttery leather recalling the insouciance of those who frequent the French Riviera or the Amalfi Coast for holidays.

What remains unchanged is the iconic brass metal knot that adorns and fastens the bag’s adjustable braided straps. Whether the small or large size is picked as a travel companion, the Andiamo will be a silhouette that will continue to evolve as travel becomes more luxurious with the times.
