Some know them as Bangtan Boys (Bangtan Sonyeondan) and others know them as Beyond The Scenes, but ultimately they are called BTS – a South Korean boy band that has made history in many aspects including the recent 61st Grammy Awards.
After being the first K-Pop act to perform at the America Music Awards and first to win a Billboard Music Award, BTS has high another high as they become the first ever Korean album to be nominated and the first K-pop artist to present at the Grammy Awards.
And while they did not win their nominated award for Best Recording Package category at the Grammys, BTS still caused plenty of buzz for their red carpet appearance.
A luxury brand favourite, BTS has appeared in countless shows and red carpet dressed in the best designer labels including Gucci, Dior and Saint Laurent, many expected the boy group to, once again, rock the red carpet in an international designer label.
But they shocked the world with a twist for their momentous debut in the Grammy Awards dressed in two Korean designers, a significant move to showcase their national pride and to promote their local talents.
And as a homegrown title ourselves, we are all for it!
For the seven-member group, six of them including Jungkook, Jin, Jimin, Suga, V and RM chose to wear custom suits by JayBaek Couture, a Korean unisex label that known for its superb tailoring and loved by Korean stars.
As for the last member, J-Hope, he chose Kim Seo Ryong as the designer of choice for his look – a popular Korean menswear label that is a staple at Seoul Fashion Week.
We say bravo to these stylish gents and we can’t wait for more, especially since they have just met up with Kim Jones (who is definitely one of the most talked-about designers right now) recently, which can hint some partnership together soon!
