Go behind the scenes with Stray Kids at the Met Gala 2024

Stray Kids everywhere all around the world.

Go behind the scenes with Stray Kids for their history (and record) -breaking debut at the 2024 Met Gala with Tommy Hilfiger.

On the first Monday of May, Stray Kids — a South Korean boy group that, FYI, has been running circles in the fashion communities prior — took to the Met steps for their first-ever Met Gala. They arrived in matching overcoats, each made bespoke thanks to Tommy Hilfiger, drawing much buzz. And then they stripped — not in the way that one might think (get your head out of the gutter!). Instead, as the boys generated oohs-and-ahs upon their arrival, a swift turn and a quick undress revealed custom Tommy Hilfiger costumes. And the rest was history.

Less than 24 hours later, reports are flooding in on the scale of “history” Stray Kids left with their Met Gala appearance. Albeit marking their first, the 2024 Met Gala saw the 8-piece group rank amongst the top ten most visible attendees at the soiree. Felix, whom one might recognise from the Louis Vuitton womenswear runway last March, was the most-talked-about male attendee at the event. And in dollars, it has been estimated that the K-pop powerhouse of a group was responsible for chalking up more than $12M in EMV (earned media value) combined, according to Lefty.io.

Bangchan, Stray Kids’ leader, and Changbin, the rapper, were clad in full navy, complete with red piping. Felix wore full white, while Hyunjin, who similarly made waves at Donatella’s La Vacanza show mid-last year, was dressed in striking (and iconic) Hilfiger red. I.N., the youngest, wore a double-breasted navy blazer, pinstriped with 24k gold interwoven, and white trousers; dance leader Lee Know did the opposite, inverting the order for a white top and the same luxe pinstriped navy bottoms. And Han, the rapper and 1/3 of the group’s producer-line, tied it all together with a silk red jacket, white inner and navy dress pants, finished with exquisite gold detailing — which was also prevalent in all the other boys’ ensembles. In classic Tommy Hilfiger fashion, there were plenty of reds, whites and blues to go around.

From casual hoodies upon arrival, to customised luxe robes pre-Met, to the final finishing touches right before the show, go behind the scenes with Tommy Hilfiger’s GBAs Stray Kids to see all the details leading up to their momentous debut at 2024’s Met Gala.
