Malaysian fans of Dom Pérignon can now enjoy the latest special edition of the Vintage 2015 — a result of a collaboration with artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The packaging design is instantly recognisable — the three-branched crown of Basquiat scrawled atop the shield of Dom Pérignon. The shield signifies Dom Pérignon’s origins from the Hautvillers territory in France of course, and the Basquiat crown has always been a symbol of power.
The result is the merging of two formidable motifs, resulting in a unique standalone piece. The special edition presents the bottles in three designs, which combine to form Basquiat’s In Italian painting. The emblems on the bottles themselves are also available in three variations, which complement the range of selections available.
Dom Pérignon is no stranger to collaboration. It has worked with notable personalities over the years, including Lady Gaga and the late Karl Lagerfeld. Artists Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons have also brought their own aesthetics to the house, just like in this one with Basquiat.
