Thom Browne Touches Down in Malaysia

The grand opening of the boutique saw guests dressing in fifty shades of grey.

Thom Browne has finally arrived in Malaysia, and it did so in the only way it knows how — with a presentation of a sharply tailored collection and a guest list that turned the evening into a posh party. The New York-based designer marked his first physical store in the country with a grand opening at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on February 20th, where the city’s most influential figures stepped out in his signature uniform. Four-bar stripes and the brand’s signature preppy polish set the tone for the night, as a crowd of tastemakers — including Koh Li Tim, Tunku Kuyim Naquiyuddin, Lynn Lim, Izzana Salleh, Brian See, and Aazief Khalid — paid homage to Browne’s sartorial world in shades of grey.

It’s not a party without a DJ, and spinning through the night was DJ Daaliah, setting the mood with a house music playlist as the backdrop for the exclusive preview of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 Collection — a chance to get a close-up look at pieces from a designer renowned for his impeccable tailoring and craftsmanship. And one guest was impossible to miss, stealing the spotlight throughout the entire night — a fleet of Browne’s now-iconic dachshund bags, seen in deep burgundy and classic black, carried, cradled, and photographed like the celebrities they are.

Thom Browne’s official arrival in Malaysia means the brand is no longer just an online fantasy seen on celebrities and hard to reach, requiring a four-week shipment wait. Now, it’s just a short trip to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for a weekend drop-by to browse a lineup of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces, accessories, and footwear.
