Dunhill’s functional approach to traditional bag styles means it is always up to the job for modern businessmen. This season, the iconic Duke collection comes in black, and available in four styles: Small Zip Tote, Flap Briefcase, Audley Tote and Folio with Lock.
Crafted in calfskin, the depth of colour is achieved through vegetable and chrome tanning, which provides a protective patina. All the bags are lined in vintage cotton, and feature signature hardware plated with an alloy of gold and black ruthenium (inspired by a vintage Dunhill pocket watch).
The business staple Flap Briefcase is a sturdy, holdall with a spacious main compartment for laptop and files, a zipped compartment, a small zipped sleeve pocket, as well as pockets for stowing one’s electronic gadgets.
Drawing from Dunhill’s archives, the facetted padlock on the flap closure is influenced by the Rolls Royce headlamps that were designed by Alfred Dunhill himself. Those who prefer larger bags can opt for the beautifully structured Audley Tote, which has generous internal space for gym or travel.
