Producing handsome timepieces is something Jaeger-LeCoultre excels at, as can be seen from their new, online-boutique-exclusive version of the Geophysic True Second. Pulled from the extensive Jaeger-LeCoultre archives, this limited-edition watch pays homage to the first model of Geophysic, but rendered in a striking, ocean blue dial.
This watch sports the same technical mechanics from the previous versions. It is powered by the same self-winding caliber 770 movements, including the rare True Second complication, with a winding rotor of solid gold and Gyrolab balance. Ticking away with utmost precision owing to the True Second complication and Gyrolab balance, the movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides 40 hours of power reserve.
On the outside, the 39.6mm classic-looking watch displays hours, minutes, and True Seconds with a simple date window at 3 o’clock. Meanwhile, the sunburst ocean blue dial is complemented well with the triple-faceted hands and the minute track that are coated in luminescent material to improve legibility in low light conditions. It also reinterprets the original chronometer with a central cross in the centre of the dial. Flipping it over, you’ll be greeted with a sapphire crystal case-back for a view of its elegant movement, and a limited edition serial number engraved around the perimeter.
