Electric vehicles (EVs) are the future of the automotive industry, and Mercedes-Benz knows this well. To expand its EV portfolio, the German marque introduced the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV. This luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) is the brand’s biggest battery-powered vehicle to date, combining impeccable luxury and exceptional performance.

Featuring a black panel radiator grille decorated with Mercedes stars, the SUV boasts 22-inch large light-alloy wheels and LED rear lights in a 3D helix design. Its luxury appeal continues with a lavish interior design that blends the hallmarks of a luxurious saloon and the spaciousness of an SUV. Upon entry, expect to be cosseted with the luxuries commonly found in a limousine. The cabin is furnished with Nappa leather seats, open-pore magnolia wood trim and Mercedes-Benz patterned aluminium accents that evoke a business-class experience. These are complemented with technological marvels such as an epic 141cm hyperscreen in the cockpit, high resolution, fully integrated 11.6-inch displays for rear passengers and a wireless charging system.

Performance-wise, there is much to look forward to in this automotive behemoth. With a top speed of 210km/h, the high-performing wagon revs up from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds — an exceptional feat considering its build. The dynamic power is further elevated by an impressive electric range of up to 673 kilometres (WLTP), which can be replenished with an AC charging capacity of up to 22kW for 6 hours and 15 minutes (0-100% state of charge) and a DC fast charging system with a charging capacity of up to 200kW for 31 minutes (10-80% state of charge).

What makes this EQS 450 4MATIC SUV such a good investment is also the array of highly functional features, including the Driving Assistance Plus package that alerts drivers to imminent collision with modern, intelligently networked sensor systems, Memory Parking Assist that saves owners the fuss by taking over the daily task of manoeuvring in and out of the parking spaces and Guard 360° Vehicle Protection Plus that notifies car owners of attempted thefts and potential crashes.

With the launch of Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC SUV, the German marque proves it is a serious player in the fiercely competitive EV arena. From its unmistakable appearance and seamless control to the posh interiors and innovative technology, every journey in this luxury SUV will be a luxurious and joyful one.
