Royal Salute has a penchant for old world and the unceasing passion is palpable in its remarkable creations, whether it is the first blended Scotch whisky released in 1953 as a gift to honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition that pays tribute to His Majesty King Charles III or the Royal Salute 32 Year Old The Precious Jewel that is inspired by The Honours of Scotland — they take pride in every craft they create.
The Kingdom Collection bears witness to the burning passion. First launched in 2022, the Royal Salute 26-Year-Old Scottish Oak Cask Finish, the first release from the Kingdom Collection, saw the Scotch whisky maker paying homage to Scotland, yielding its first-ever expression fully finished in virgin Scottish oak casks.
Two years later, Royal Salute continues to narrate the tale of Kingdom Collection with a brand new launch — the Royal Salute 26-Year-Old Amarone Wine Cask Finish — which shines a light on the magnificence of Italy. It marks an unprecedented feat for the Scotch whisky brand as the limited-edition expression is the first creation to finish in casks that previously held the Italian Amarone wine. Produced exclusively in Italy’s north-eastern region of Veneto, the 26-Year-Old Amarone Wine Cask Finish showcases its innovative spirit where Italian savoir-faire is married with the creative sensibility of Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, resulting an impeccable masterpiece characterised by richness of flavour.
On the nose, the unique blend unleashes a heady mix of delicious plums, earthy cinnamon and warming nutmeg. On the palate, the delectable creation unfolds a rich and spicy finish infused with red apples and panettone. The remarkable finesse is not the only thing that makes the limited-edition expression such a collectable release. Housed in an elegance-charged purple flagon that evokes the deep plum hues of an Amarone wine, the Royal Salute 26-Year-Old Amarone Wine Cask Finish comes with an exquisite box adorned with emblematic features of Italy.
