Bright Vachirawit talks personal style & musical future

Baring it all.

By Charmaine Tan and Manfred Lu

Bright Vachirawit strips it down in an exclusive interview that explores for his fashion and music endeavours in the future.

For those who have been unacquainted with the meteoric rise of Vachirawit Chivaaree — better known as Bright — you’d probably think that with a face and body like his, standing either in front of screen or on a stage was just meant to be. Yes, it takes courage to take the road less taken, but with more than a few years of doing just that under his belt, the Thai native is ready to offer much more than his natural gifts — starting with how he shows up, and then what he wants to say.

Starring in Calvin Klein’s newest campaign for Fall 2024 denim — directed by AJ Duan and shot by Park Jong Ha — the CEO of CLOUD9 Entertainment is resplendently in his element; dressed in the latest jeans, logo tees and denim outerwear, he oozes confidence, and easily shifts between the casual and polished overtones that mark each image. He speaks to Men’s Folio to talk about personal style on and off-duty, how he reveals his truer self through music, and how all of these moving parts harmonise with his aspirations as an artist.

What is one word that describes Calvin Klein. And why?
“Confident” because it is a brand that reflects a minimal yet sensual and empowered style.

Without a doubt, fashion has been a strong forte of yours. Do you think you have settled on a “personal style” that will stick with you forever, or would you like to leave more room to experiment with fashion?
I’m always evolving my style, love experimenting with classic and modern looks.

What defines your personal style?
I start the day with the mood I want to project each day. I choose a style that makes me feel confident, sensual, and matches the vibe of the place I’ll be going to, or the activity I’ll be doing.

On music, how do you want people to feel when they listen to the music you make?
I want my music to evoke a sense of connection and inspiration. I make a very diverse range of music. Each song has its own vibe. I try to make things that convey a new perspective. It’s a way of expressing myself through my work and seeing if there are people who resonate with the same music. I would love to curate immersive experiences that reflect my own taste for others to enjoy, regardless of the medium — whether it be parties, installations, fashion collections.

Do you think your music is tied to your Calvin Klein fashion endeavours?
Both express my identity, seamlessly blending style and music, and make me feel confident.

Despite achieving so much, I’m sure you still have goals. What are some of your goals before you reach your 30s?
Continue to grow as an artist, explore new creative ventures, and inspire others.

What are some things that you enjoy doing that you wish you had more time to work on/do?
Wish to spend more time on new experiences, creating art, and creating experiences to share with my fans.

Are there any future projects that you would like to share?
Exciting collaborations and new music are on the horizon. I invite you to check out my new song “Long Shower” which is a collaboration with 88rising. Stay tuned for more of my work on CLOUD9 ENTERTAINMENT.
