Once the music by James Blake starts, a top-of-her-field model, dressed in a monochromatic grey suit while sporting a bob haircut, opens the show. Who would have expected that skirt-pants would look this good? This is not the first time creative director Matthieu Blazy has turned the ordinary into extraordinary. The French-Belgian designer has created a variety of noteworthy pieces, such as leather pants that mimic denim jeans to leather bags that imitate grocery store paper bags. This season? It is wrinkled clothes that look straight out of the washing machine.

At the Bottega Veneta Summer 2025, which took place at Orobia 11, Blazy continued to showcase his artistic sensibility and craftsmanship. There were modern interpretations of power suits that showcased the balance of softness and crispness, the emblematic intrecciato weave reimagined into a gigantic collar, and striped shirt crafted with couture techniques. The current fascination of oversized silhouette was also visible, with sleeves blown up to generous proportions and suits executed in exaggerated cuts.

Under the helm of Matthieu Blazy, the Summer 2025 collection felt true to life. Businesswear was made for daily wear yet still offered a sense of authority, while casualwear shed light on the classiness of fashion, created with a glaze of whimsy. This was exactly what Blazy wanted to convey in his latest collection — the ingenuousness of childhood told through the redemptive power of fashion.
