BTS’s Jin is definitely on a winning streak. Following his ambassadorship with Fred, the South Korean singer has secured another major endorsement — this time, it’s none other than the fashion behemoth under Kering Group, Gucci. With the appointment, he will join Gucci’s “Dean’s List,” which already includes an impressive roster of big names including Hanni, Jay Park, Davika Hoorne, Billkin and, of course, our August 2024 cover star Gulf Kanawut.
“[His] warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honored to share this journey with him,” shares creative director Sabato de Sarno.
The collaboration between the Italian fashion house and Jin did not happen on a whim. Prior to the announcement, the “Worldwide Handsome” has frequently been spotted wearing the house’s designs. From official events to airport looks to social media posts, Gucci has been the go-to brand to curate his approachable demeanour.
The appointment came at the right time as Gucci has set its sights on South Korea. The Italian brand has been strengthening its ties with the country by hosting events that shed light on the Korean culture. One notable project is the “Gucci Cultural Month.” Set to take place on October 15 in Seoul, the initiative serves as a platform to showcase the works of Korean personalities, who made significant contributions to their local art scene, including conceptual artist Kimsooja, filmmaker Chan Wook Park, contemporary dancer Eun Me Ahn and pianist Seong Jin Cho.
