Urban style meets Streamline Moderne — a Art Deco style that emerged in the 1930s and popularised a blend of form, material and technical know-how — in the Bell & Ross BR 05 Artline Steel & Gold. The movement gave rise to functionalist aesthetics that shaped much of the designs to come, including aviation, which Bell & Ross has roots in.
“This name indicates that it incorporates an artistic dimension (art) in its design (line). When you look at it, you immediately think of the American Streamline style”, explains Bruno Belamich, creative director and co-founder of Bell & Ross. Period distinct fluted elements on the watch bezel and bracelet central links embody this very touch, lending a timeless appeal to the Bell & Ross BR 05. While a tonal steel-on-steel approach would have elevated the utilitarian nature of the watch, Bell & Ross opted for 18K rose gold flutings for a touch of elegance and flamboyance.
The watch’s brown sunburst dial features sleek baton indices instead of the brand’s trademark Arabic numerals to further ground the watch’s aesthetics. Within the watch lies the quintessential automatic calibre BR-CAL.321-1, providing up to 54 hours of uninterrupted operation.
