Rolex celebrates its 20th anniversary as the Official Timepiece of the Goodwood Revival and the Title Sponsor of the Rolex Drivers’ Club, showcasing the Swiss watchmaker’s efforts in honouring motor racing, especially the eras of yesteryear. The Goodwood Revival is an annual racing event that pays tribute to the 1940s to 1960s, and attending the event is akin to taking a step back in time.

Within the Goodwood Revival itself lies the Rolex Drivers’ Club, which carries a curated theme set by the Duke of Richmond, making it an eventful jaunt for drivers and fans alike.

The Goodwood Revival is also home to some of the biggest names in motorsports history, such as Sir Jackie Stewart and Mark Webber. The former — nicknamed “the Flying Scot” — has won three FIA Formula 1® Drivers’ World Championships and 27 Formula 1® Grand PrixTM races, finishing on the podium 43 times.

Sir Jackie has also been a Rolex Testimonee for over 55 years and brings with him this illustrious history to the Goodwood Revival as a regular attendee.

Speaking on the Goodwood Revival, he said, “I have been fortunate enough to see the Goodwood Revival evolve into one of the greatest events of its kind. The Duke of Richmond has created a wonderful environment at Goodwood Motor Circuit — the quality of the vehicles is spectacular, as is their extraordinary performance on track. Goodwood attracts the best drivers, some from the period of the cars themselves, as well as many other winners from a multitude of classes.

Adding on about his relationship with the Swiss watchmaker, Sir Jackie said, “I hold a long-term, unique relationship with Rolex, a brand which is the epitome of style and class. When I first walked in the door, I was immediately met by wonderful people who in my opinion have a product that, above everything else, is the best. Since then, my loyalty to Rolex has increased and my respect for the company and what they achieve has grown.”

Fellow Rolex Testimonee Mark Webber has also been a regular participant in the Goodwood Revival. In 2023, he debuted at the event as a competitor in its first sustainably fuelled race. Webber also plays an integral part in motorsports, having won multiple Formula 1® and FIA World Endurance Championship events.

“The relationship between Rolex and motor sport is very important; as a driver and motor sport enthusiast, I see the far-reaching and positive effects of this relationship every day. Neither industry has ever shied away from their respective challenges, nor the need for precision, and both continue to push the boundaries of what is possible,” Webber said.

“Rolex rewards excellence in the sport and when you receive such an incredible prize you are reminded of that race, how you achieved that result and what that race or championship meant to you.”

Rolex’s relationship with racing dates back to the 1930s and cements the brand’s presence as a true supporter of the sport, especially for events steeped in elegance, beauty, and tradition. Its 20-year relationship with the Goodwood Revival is no different.
